COURSES: SECOND QUARTER
DES 102: Drawing II, 3 credits
Students will draw the human figure from a live model. Various media and techniques will be used to create form with line and tone. Emphasis will be on drawing accurate, dynamic and expressive representations of the human figure using elements of design in good composition.

DES 121: Typography I, 3 credits
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the terminology, process and social context of graphic design and typography. Students will learn the history of type, identifying type and type styles, and how to use type to communicate effectively.

DES 132: Graphic Design II, 4 credits
The purpose of this course is to introduce layout and advertising design and put into practice the design process and principles of perception studied in Graphic Design I.

DES 146: Graphic Production II, 3 credits
This course is the second part of the Adobe CS3 Series. InDesign is a page layout application. This class uses hands-on projects to overview InDesign's powerful tools for layout and design. Correct use of colors and create consistent and amazing type. Apply art from Illustrator and Photoshop, control tables, and output for print.

NME 120: New Media II, 6 credits
This is the second part of a three quarter coordinated studies class designed specifically for students in Commerical Photography, Graphic Design adn Publishing Arts to meet the general components of their respective programs.
